About the Speaker:
Dr. Young-Corbett is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. With degrees in biological sciences, environmental science, and industrial engineering, she is no stranger to trans-disciplinary work. She has been engaged in interdisciplinary research activities since joining the faculty in 2007 and will discuss the challenges and rewards of inquiry that transcends traditional academic boundaries.
