Hurricane Matthew

FYI—

The American Indian and Indigenous Community Center (AIICC–122 Squires) is serving as drop-off point for a donation drive for Hurricane Matthew victims through October 26th. Donations will be delivered to North Carolina by Melissa Faircloth, AIICC Programming Assistant.

While this drive is intended to benefit ALL victims, some American Indian and Indigenous Alliance members have been in contact with tribal representatives from Eastern Carolina communities that were hardest hit. This event will at least rival Hurricane Sandy in its devastation. People in Robeson County have shared that recovery seems impossible at this point and they are at a point where counting their blessings is of little comfort.

Non-perishable food items, water, toiletries, first aid supplies, clothing and baby items are requested.
